I haven't been much inspired to write. I've been rather bored lately. Not much interested in reading any of my books. Just call me unmotivated. I usually am this time of year. The warmer weather brings more energy and I'll feel better, so I'm looking forward to that.

On the upside, I began working out. The scale says I've lost 5 pounds, but I'm always leery of the scale. I took measurements earlier this week. I'll measure again next month. I find that I recover much more quickly from aerobic exercise than from weight training. Weights make me feel absolutely horrible. I'm not sure if that is from Fibro or just because it has been a few years since I've picked any weights. We'll see how this goes. All I want is more energy and to feel comfortable in my skin. The actual number of pounds I want to lose are becoming less important. I'm changing my focus to energy and health. Go me!

We will be moving in October. Nine months sooner than we were supposed to. Our landlord is being discharged from the Air Force a bit sooner than he thought. No big deal. I'm not upset about it. I just hate moving. It will be our third move in three years and I am definitely over all that it involves. At least we will be staying in the area! I love the Southwest! I do miss the Midwest winters, but we do get some snow, so I'm not completely deprived. I'm looking forward to exploring more of the state this summer. I'll have to start searching for cheap fun in the area. I definitely want to go back to the State Fair to see more horse shows. I hope to catch the rodeo this year. My husband and kids are hoping to get a trip to Roswell in soon. Oh, won't that be interesting!

I'm off to go figure out how I can go to school without financial aid. I think I can do it. Paralegal studies. I have to have something to do once the kids are out of the house.

See you (hopefully sooner than) later.

Jeremiah 17:5-8 NIV

This is what the LORD says:
"Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the LORD. I'm so happy to be back to doing unit studies. The girls are too. We're having fun. I'm seeing more smiles and interest in what they are doing. Unit studies are definitely for us and we will stick with them.

My oldest daughter is going to be 16 at the end of the month. Wow! Where did the time go? It seem like it was just yesterday that she turned herself all the way around in womb into the breach position. I remember that night...my husband and I laying on the couch watching TV, interrupted by the gymnastics going on in my belly. It was a bizarre sight! Now she is learning how to drive, she's an extraordinary helper, she has an extensive vocabulary, she's down to earth, loving, giving. She's all the things I imagined she would be as held her for the first time and gazed upon her precious face. Her eyes were already opened, big, round and beautiful. She is an amazing young lady. She amazes me more every day. I know I'll spend the days until her birthday reflecting on all the joy she has brought into my life. It's hard to believe how quickly that time went. I'm truly blessed beyond measure.

God Bless,
Kristina

American Thinker Blog: Obama's revealing body language (updated and expanded))

American Thinker Blog: Obama's revealing body language (updated and expanded))

Shared via AddThis

New Home, New State

We've moved!! My husband got a job at Kirkland Air Force Base, and moved us to New Mexico. Just northwest of Albuquerque. It's beautiful. I love it! It reminds me of where I grew up in southern California. I love the desert. I love not having to deal with humidity anymore. We have mountain views, a beautiful landscaped fenced in backyard, a 2 story 3 bedroom house in a gated community. It's lovely. Despite a few bumps, the move went smoothly. God was definitely with us and gave us a great home.

Now that we are settled in, I have more time to blog. Yay! This weekend I will be finishing up lesson plans for the upcoming school year. We will be using Far Above Rubies to finish up high school. My youngest is going into 7th grade and I will be including her in FAR. I can't wait to start. For outside activities we will most likely use the Parks and Rec. programs. We will also be signing the girls up for riding lessons. They've been begging us for a couple of years to do it. My husband resisted because he didn't thnk it would be useful, but he changed his mind because he just wants the girls to be happy. I'm very excited for them to start. They will be taking lessons in the Western discipline. They want to do barrel racing and reigning. So, next week, I think, we will be signing them up.

I haven't found a church yet. I did visit one, but I'm not too sure about it yet. There is one more that I want to visit, then I need to pray and make a decision. With the school year beginning in a couple of weeks, the churches will be starting youth classes, and I want to get the girls involved. There is also a homeschooling group that I want to look into. I haven't been involved with one yet, and would like to give it a try.

Just some quick updates. I will be back next week with more interesting (or not) posts.

God Bless,
Kristina

Funny Hubby

My husband got a job in New Mexico. He has been there since the 10th. He found us a house in Rio Rancho. He says it's all so beautiful there. I can't wait to move. Our lease expires here at the end of June, then we will drive out to join my husband in New Mexico. We're paying a good chunk of change to have a well known moving company move us. If all goes well, I'll give them a nice review.

My husband is already working overtime. (YAY!) We usually talk at night before he goes to bed. He sends me email occasionally, and this was one of them. I found it amusing and thought I'd share....

The Miracle of Toilet Paper as told by a housewife... ..

Fresh from my shower, I stand in front of the mirror complaining to my
husband that my breasts are too small. Instead of characteristically
telling me it's not so, he uncharacteristically comes up with a suggestion.
"If you want your breasts to grow, then every day take a piece of toilet
paper and rub it between them for a few seconds."
Willing to try anything, I fetch a piece of toilet paper and stand in front
of the mirror, rubbing it between my breasts. "How long will this take?" I
asked.
"They will grow larger over a period of years," my husband replies.
I stopped. "Do you really think rubbing a piece of toilet paper between my
breasts every day will make my breasts larger over the years?" Without
missing a beat he says, "Worked for your butt, didn't it?"
He's still alive, and with a great deal of therapy, he may even walk again,
although he will probably continue to take his meals through a straw for a
loonnngg time.
Stupid, stupid man.

Interesting Article

Sorry I haven't been around much.....is anybody reading this, anyway?........I've been a tad bit busy. Busy with seemingly unimportant things like just hanging out, going to the store or out and about with my husband, watching movies, goofing off with the kids, and what have you. But, then again, my husband has been gone for almost 2 years, so these things are important to us -- re-establishing our bond, so to speak.

Anyway, I've been feeling rather disgusted with our country's and society's current states, wondering how in the world did we citizens allow it to get this bad, and have been doing a bunch of reading trying to gain the education about how our government was designed to run, our economics, and our duty as citizens that my public school education barely glossed over or felt it not worthy of enough to pass on to me and my fellow students, and I came across this article today. I thought my non-existent readers might find it interesting, so I'm sharing it here.

I'm not sure how often I will be updating in the next couple of months. My husband is looking for work and our lease expires in June, so we'll be a bit busy trying to figure out what will be the best option for us job and location wise.

Take care and God Bless!

Kristina

Airframes and Powerplants

My husband is on his way home from Oklahoma City. He was there for two weeks to get his Airframes and Powerplants license. He passed the course just fine. I don't know why the poor thing was so worried that he wouldn't pass. He's only been working on helicopters for....oh....10 or so years now, and he had 2 semesters of school under his belt already. Or was it 3 semesters???? Anywho! He did it. I'm very proud of him!

He can now update his resume and and get a job. My husband was working in Iraq for almost 2 years. He got home a few months ago, and has taken a much needed break. We've spent a lot of time together as a whole family again. We needed to have Daddy back! Now that being said.....He needs to find himself a job because spending time with that man when he has not so much to do is beginning to drive me batty. See, he gets these ideas. I don't know where they come from. They're just...."Hey Honey! You know what I was thinking...." type of ideas. That in itself is not bad. It's just.....the amount of detail, and that these ideas are so far fetched is what worries me. He obviously has WAY too much time on his hands. - I've never held a conversation with or listened to anybody on an acid trip. But I think my hubby's ramblings come fairly close. - When he starts to rattle one off, which is daily...or more, I absently reply, "MmmHmmmmmm......Why don't you look for a job." And his response is that he is so unappreciated in his time. Him and all the other Great Geniuses, right?

He's quite amusing, and I should be thankful for his imagination and that he isn't one of those people who takes themselves too seriously. Those reserved-can't muster more than a giggle for something that is downright laugh at loud funny-anal retentive-boring-must be serious at all times people. Oh.....that would be torture! Thank you, God for my goofy husband.
